Evolutions in Therapy and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
To My Clients:
I want to give you an update the precautions we are taking and on how we are addressing concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus). First, the management of the building and the management of our suite of offices have both significantly stepped up efforts to clean and sanitize the spaces. At the beginning and end of each day and between client sessions, I wipe down furniture (including the cushions) and surfaces such as door handles with Clorox disinfecting wipes. For biofeedback and neurofeedback, I thoroughly disinfect equipment and hook-ups, and electrodes that attach to the scalp are single-use pellets.
If a case of COVID-19 is discovered anywhere in the building, I have been informed that the building will be closed for an undetermined period. If that happens, or if you or I are quarantined for any reason, I have the capability to conduct sessions via telehealth. You will be provided a link via email, and we will be able to conduct the session via secure (HIPAA-compliant) video conference.
Though the risk remains low, it’s important to take a proactive approach to minimize exposure.
· If you’ve recently been in any airport, please wait 14 days before coming in for an appointment
· If you or someone close to you has recently traveled to or from Iran, South Korea, China, Italy or other European countries, please postpone an in-office visit or request a telehealth session
· If you’re exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, I urge you to stay home, take care of yourself and seek medical help when appropriate.
Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. This pandemic is causing increased amounts of stress for much of our population. If you find yourself needing or wanting additional support, please let me know.
Best regards,
Rick
